Why do you need my location when signing up ?

This is a convenience feature so jobs and service providers displayed are relevant to your location. You can change the location at anytime by clicking on it beneath the search box or updating it in your account details in 'my account'.

Can I choose a different provider after selecting a winner ?

Yes, you can cancel the work and choose another service provider.

Does servicei handle payment of service between members ?

No not at this time, payment arrangements are between members, a contract with payment schedule is always advisable before starting service.

What happens if I get into a dispute with another member ?

Resolution of disputes is between members, servicei does not currently provide an arbitration service. Members should exercise due diligence and be in full agreement on all details before starting service, a contract is always advisable. Arbitration would have to be sought through a third party of your choice.

Do I have to provide my address when posting a job ?

No, we strongly advise users not to post any personal information, city or town is normally enough for job location.

Are service providers bound by the bids placed or services started ?

No, any contractual obligations should be discussed and documented between members before starting. We simply provide a means for our members, being customers and service providers to locate each other.

Can I post a job or advertise my services in another Country ?

Sure, you can post a job or advertise your services anywhere you need to, please keep in mind all bids received and services offered will be in the currency of that Country, so you may need to work out amounts considering exchange rates.

Why can't I see the feedback posted ?

Feedback is not posted publicly until both members (customer and provider) leave feedback or time to leave feedback expires, to ensure members have the opportunity to post fair feedback without retaliation. Time limit to leave feedback is 14 days after job is marked complete.

What are keywords used for?

Keywords are attached to jobs you post or services you advertise, to help others find your job or service quickly. If the keyword for your job or service does not exist then you can create a new keyword which would have to be approved before others could use it.

How do I change email notification settings?

Hover over the 'my account' header link and select 'my alert's in the drop down to view and make changes to job alerts and other system alerts.

How do I contact service providers ?

Just click on the service providers user ID which displays the providers profile page and then choose the contact button to send a message.

Why are customers anonymous ?

This is a privacy issue, many (members) customers prefer to maintain anonymity until they feel comfortable with the service provider they want to use or may not want their customer profile to be viewable.

Can I use my personal email with other users ?

Yes that's your choice, we provide the option to send and receive messages through servicei for those that prefer privacy.

How do I post a video ?

If you'd like to post a video to help describe your job or advertise your services, then please post your video with one of these free popular video hosts (youtube, vimmeo), then copy and paste the web link (url) to your video into the form when posting a job or advertising your services. Ensure you are familiar with their copyright policies, etc regarding content uploaded.

Can I login using my facebook ID or an open ID?

No, to maintain privacy of our member data and ensure it is not compromised or accessible to any 3rd party sites or applications.

My job or bid was reported by another member?

Only members that have successfully completed jobs or bids and received positive feedback have the ability to report other jobs or bids. Jobs and bids reported by members are investigated by admin to ensure policies are being followed, anything found to be in conflict with terms of use will result in removal of the bid or the job. Any content considered illegal, pornographic / sexually oriented or offensive may result in member termination, as it is our priority to ensure the integrity of Servicei is maintained for all our community members.
